Thank You Central Arkansas

The Arkansas River Cities Sports Commission would like to thank the citizens of Central Arkansas for their help in making the 2008 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship First/Second Rounds such a triumph. The tremendous success of this exciting event has led the NCAA to encourage us to bid for future national tournaments.

We would especially like to thank Chris Peterson and Andrea Nunez of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock for their direction and management of the tournament. The commitment by UALR to serve as the host institution was instrumental in convincing the NCAA to award a first/second round site to the Greater Little Rock area.

Additionally, Michael Marion, Wes Holmes and the entire Alltel Arena staff are to be commended for their professionalism and hard work throughout the tournament. Thousands of people from throughout the country travelled to Central Arkansas for this event, many for their first time. The warmth and hospitality shown by our citizens made certain that they will want to visit here again.
